Navy man from Milford comes home from Afghanistan finds belongings stolen

Mike Castaldi grew up in Milford where he graduated Jonathan Law High School in 2000. He enlisted in the US Navy in 2006 and has served 3 tours overseas. His latest tour was 8 months in Afghanistan.

Monday, Sept. 10, 2012, Mike returned home from deployment where he was shocked to find all of his belongings, with the exception of his furniture and military uniforms, had been stolen from storage while he was fighting for our country.

Thursday Sept. 20 Jason Castaldi and friends invite you to come to The Orange Ale House and participate in raising funds for Mike Castaldi, his Brother. We are raising money to help him get back on his feet so he can afford to make a home for himself when he returns home from war.

On Sunday, Sept. 16, 2012 from 10am-2pm there will be a collection at the Jonathan Law High School faculty parking lot, which is located on the corner of Milford Point RD and Lansdale Ave.

Other drop-off locations include:

Venice Bakery located at 1771 Dixwell Hamden CT between the hours of 8am and 6 pm M-F, 8am and 2pm on weekends.

WAVE Gas Station 1143 Foxon Road North Branford CT between the hours of 8am and 6pm everyday.

  3. Horrible...I plan on donating at the drop off. I just don't like Ellie's comment "and now it's time to pay it forward" Yes we owe our troops gratitude for their service, but to say people need to pay up, we all contribute to society in our own ways, and most of us have relatives who served in wartime? I hope Ellie has "paid up" to institutions like The Wounded Warrior Projects or charities of the sort prior to this awful incident happened to her Nephew. And thank you Mike for your Service. Maybe she could have said it in a nicer tone. Maybe a statement like this...he risked his life for the people and anyone who would like to contribute to help Mike, our family would be very appreciative of your gratitude.
