Milford Annual Children's Snapper Derby Date Announced

The annual Children's Snapper Derby, sponsored by the city and Milford Sport Fishing Association, will start at 7:30 a.m. Sept. 15 at Milford Lisman Landing, at the head of the harbor.

The free event is open to any child 15 years and younger.

First-, second- and third-place prizes will be presented for the five heaviest fish. Refreshments, including hot dogs, will be served around noon. There will be a free raffle.

After the June 11 arrest of Luis A. Rodriguez for the 2001 murder of Walnut Beach resident Kelsey Monahon, I got curious about other long-term unsolved homicides in Milford.
