Milford's Sept. 11 ceremony planned

The City of Milford will remember the events of September 11, 2001 with a simple ceremony of song and prayer.  The official event will be held on Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Live Oaks School’s World Trade Center Memorial Garden, 575 Merwin Avenue.  The event will be held rain or shine, and all Milford citizens are invited to attend.

The Milford Police Department and Fire Department Honor Guards will present the colors.  The children from Live Oaks School will participate in the short but meaningful remembrance.  The Reverend Gary Witte, Pastor of the Woodmont United Church of Christ Congregational and Rabbi Dana Bogatz of Congregation Sinai will lead attendees in prayer.

The World Trade Center Memorial Garden was dedicated September 9, 2002 to Michael Miller and Avnish Patel, graduates of Live Oaks School, to Seth Morris of Mathewson School and to all those who perished in the tragic attacks on September 11, 2001.

The following information was submitted by Mayor Ben Blake's office.
