2012 Milford Police Academy graduation

On October 19, 2012 the Milford Police Department conducted formal graduation exercises honoring the graduates of the 2012 session of the Milford Police Academy.

The program honored 27 Officers representing 9 municipalities including Milford, Ansonia, Greenwich, Naugatuck, New Haven, Orange, Seymour, Stratford and Wallingford Police Departments.

he 2012 Milford Police Academy session began in March 2012 which included 29 weeks of training in a variety of topic areas. Several awards were presented to the graduates including three distinct awards based on academics, commitment and achievements.

 Daniel Scott Wasson Award - Joseph Dempsey (Milford Police Department)
 Arnold Markle Memorial Award – Elizabeth Sterling White (New Haven Police Department)
 Samuel Luciano Award – Alan Pesce (Greenwich Police Department)

Five graduates listed below representing the Milford Police Department will begin their Field Training Program this week.

Milford's Unsolved Murders

After the June 11 arrest of Luis A. Rodriguez for the 2001 murder of Walnut Beach resident Kelsey Monahon, I got curious about other long-term unsolved homicides in Milford. So, I began digging through the New Haven Register's archives; I looked at all the murders in Milford that we have on record (dating back to the 1940s) and I came up with a list of 9* unfortunate souls whose murders are unsolved.
