Milford Police collect more than 130 pounds of drugs on take back day

On September 29, 2012 the Milford Police Department and the Milford Prevention Council in conjunction with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) hosted a “Drug Take Back Day” event at the Milford Senior Center located at 9 Jepson Drive.

During this four hour event, we collected 132 pounds of unwanted prescription drugs from the public as part of a nationwide initiative to prevent prescription drug abuse and theft by ridding their homes of potentially dangerous expired, unused, and unwanted prescription drugs.

After the June 11 arrest of Luis A. Rodriguez for the 2001 murder of Walnut Beach resident Kelsey Monahon, I got curious about other long-term unsolved homicides in Milford.
