DUI hit and run accident in Milford

Police arrested a Milford man on Saturday for an alleged drunken hit and run.
 
Police received a complaint on July 4 of an accident in the 300 block of Naugatuck Avenue. Upon arriving at the scene, they found that a vehicle had struck a dumpster and fled the scene, according to a police report.

Police later stopped a vehicle on Meadows End Road and found the driver, Robert Donaldson, to be driving while intoxicated. An intoxilyzer test indicated that he had an elevated blood alcohol content level.

Donaldson was charged with driving while intoxicated, evading responsibility and failing to drive right.
