Police blotter 6/24

Here's what police are reporting for notable arrests from over the weekend (all from Milford PD press release). 

Name: Christopher Rosa, 24, East Haven
Arrest date: June 21, 9:50 a.m.
Pending charge: third-degree burglary, third-degree criminal trespass, fourth-degree larceny
Police say: Rosa took copper grounding wires from a construction site at 185 Research Drive on April 16. He was arrested on a warrant on Friday. 

 Name: Eden Weiss, 40, Woodbridge
Arrest date: June 21, 10:45 p.m.
Pending charge: violation of conditions of release 
Police say: Weiss was ordered by the court to stay away from a person whom he was involved in a domestic disturbance with; on April 29, police got a complaint that he violated that order by going to the victim's home. Police arrested Weiss on a warrant on Friday. 

Name: Paul Gaites Sr., 50, Wallingford
Arrest date: June 22, 11:53 p.m.
Pending charge: violation of a protective order, second-degree failure to appear
Police say: Responding to a Finch Street home on a report of an "unwanted male," they found Edward Gaites there. When they put him in the back of a patrol car, his brother, Paul, came over and started shouting at him. Police checked out Paul Gaites and discovered there was a protective order prohibiting Paul from talking to Edward. They also found that Paul Gaites had a warrant for failure to appear.

After the June 11 arrest of Luis A. Rodriguez for the 2001 murder of Walnut Beach resident Kelsey Monahon, I got curious about other long-term unsolved homicides in Milford. And, don't forget to check the  UPDATED  Milford Crime Map:  Milford Crime Map Name: Joshua Morales, 23, Milford Arrest date: Sept. 24, 10:15 a.m. Pending charge(s): Sixth-degree larceny; conspiracy to commit sixth-degree larceny Police say: Morales stole a lottery ticket from Howard's Variety store on Naugatuck Avenue on July 19. Police are accusing Morales of taking 100 $2 "Bonus Ball Bingo" scratch tickets.  Name: John DeLauro, 74, Guilford Arrest date: Sept. 24, 3:40 p.m. Pending charge(s): Third-degree stalking Police say: DeLauro was parked in front of a former companion's house on Lawrence Court and had been warned not to contact the victim.  Name: Donald Judd, 55, Hamden Arrest date: Sept. 23, 3:30 p.m. Pending charge(s): Two counts of public indecency; second-degree breach of peace; risk of injury Police say: On Sept. 19, two women observed a man masturbating while riding in his car down Darin

Pending charge(s): Third-degree assault; second-degree strangulation; second-degree threatening; first-degree criminal trespass; disorderly conduct; possession of marijuana; possession of drug paraphernalia Police say: On a call of a disturbance at an Elaine Road home, police discovered that Maxwell had entered his companion's home and started to choke her.
