Milford Anti-Blight Ordinance

The City of Milford passed a stronger blight ordinance in 2009 that culminated blight-enforcement powers into the city's health department. Below is a copy of the blight ordinance.

Those found to not be in compliance with the ordinance can be fined $100 per day and have a lien placed on their property.

The City of New Haven recently acquired a house on Clay Street in the city's first successful anti-blight foreclosure. The foreclosure also marks the first in the state under such an ordinance

Have you ever submitted a complaint to the city's health department about a blighted property or think are any particular parts of the city that have a large blight problem? Feel free to comment below or email me at rscinto@nhregister.com
