Milford United Way Hits its Goal
The following message is from United Way of Milford President Gary Johnson.
"Whew, we made it! I am happy to report that the United Way of Milford has reached its Campaign goal of $900,000. We have so many people to thank for this achievement, especially our tireless Campaign volunteers who give of their time, calling on business-es and individuals and spreading the word about the good work the United Way does. Of course, we also want to thank all the individuals and businesses who donated to this year’s Campaign too. Contributions can be made in all different forms: small, large, pledges, gifts in kind. Know that however you make your gift it is truly appreciated.
You should also know that we take very seriously our task of allocating these funds. Our Board of Directors is divided into panels that review the funding requests of all the agencies we sup-port. The panels then make recommendations which are voted on by the full Board of Directors. It is a thorough and exacting process because we want to make sure your contributions are best used to serve the community’s needs. This year’s allocations can be found on p. 6.
Again, a heartfelt thank you to all those who helped us reach our Campaign goal. In this difficult economy, we especially appreciate your hard-earned gifts, as do those struggling families and individuals who will benefit from your contributions. Once more, you have shown that “Milford is the small city with a big heart.”
