Police Blotter 6/10

Here are some notable arrests from this weekend (all from Milford PD press release)


Name: Joseph Vazquez, 24, Bridgeport
Arrest date: June 7, 9:30 a.m.
Pending charge: Possession of a stolen firearm
Police say: Executing a search warrant at Vazquez' residence, police say they found a stolen rifle.


Name: Thomas Chase, 27, Shelton
Arrest date: June 7, 1:30 p.m.
Pending charge: third-degree assault, second degree threatening, risk of injury, violation of a protective order, disorderly conduct
Police say: Police obtained an arrest warrant for Chase after a May domestic incident where he was accused of harming a companion in the presence of a child, and violating a condition of a protective order.



Name: Kenneth Smagala, 30, Milford
Arrest date: June 8, 1:30 a.m.
Pending charge: DUI, traveling too fast for conditions, possession of marijuana (less than 1/2 oz.)
Police say: Police observed Smagala traveling fast along Buckingham Avenue and not staying in his lane. They say a breathalyzer revealed he had an elevated blood-alcohol content.



Name: Jenna Hirsch, 28, Hamden
Arrest date: June 8, 2:19 a.m.
Pending charge: DUI, failure to signal properly, operating an unregistered motor vehicle
Police say: Police say they saw Hirsch signal improperly driving along the Boston Post Road, so they pulled her over. They say that a breathalyzer revealed she had too much to drink.



Name: David Williams, 46, Milford
Arrest date: June 8, 6:20 p.m.
Pending charge: Disorderly conduct
Police say: They say they responded to a disturbance at 534 West River St. and that an investigation revealed Williams had grabbed his spouse by the neck.



Name: Danielle O'Brien, 20, Milford
Arrest date: June 9, 6:16 a.m.
Pending charge: DUI, failure to drive right, evading responsibility, driving without insurance
Police say: They responded to a car crash on Bonseline Street and found a damaged tree. After a little searching, they found O'Brien's car along Wall Street, and they allege she was driving under the influence.
