Walkathon for disabled vets

Disabled American Veterans Milford Chapter #15 invites community members to support a Walk Fundraiser event on Saturday, July 6 (rain date: July 13) starting at Fowler Field in Milford. Participants can register at www.milforddavchapter15.com.

The DAV Walk Fundraiser, sponsored by Eastern Holistic Arts, will help local disabled men and women veterans and their families. All funds raised will assist injured heroes in leading high-quality lives with respect and dignity.

The one mile walk through Milford's downtown and Green begins at 9:00 AM followed by guest speaker Milford Mayor Ben Blake, a silent auction and a complimentary cookout lunch for all participants at the Fowler Pavilion. Registration fee is $15 per person.

"This is our first walkathon fundraiser so we're looking forward to the community's participation to help our local vets, " says Elizabeth Walsh, Milford Chapter Commander.  "We hope local businesses and residents will get involved to make this a successful event."
